This toolkit was developed by the NSW Elder Abuse Helpline & Resource Unit. It is a helpful resource for all agencies that work with and provide services to older people living in the community, who may be at risk of or who are experiencing abuse.
The toolkit supports a consistent approach to identifying, responding and preventing the abuse of older people.
Each of the 5 steps has practical information and tools which guide staff from identification of elder abuse, through to response.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the First Nations Peoples of NSW and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future.
Informed by lessons of the past, the Ageing and Disability Commission is improving how we work with Aboriginal people and communities. We listen and learn from the knowledge, strength and resilience of Stolen Generations Survivors, Aboriginal Elders and Aboriginal communities.
