Under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act), certain information must be made easily available to the public. This is known as ‘open access information’ and often includes information about us and what we do.
We also aim to make other information about us easily available. You can find out more about what we do by reading our newsletters and annual reports.
The ADC handles personal and sensitive information relating to a range of matters. While we try to make as much information as possible publicly available, the work of the ADC involves highly personal and sensitive information.
For this reason, information relating to the ADC's report handling, investigative and reporting functions is excluded information as classified under Schedule 2, clause 2 of the GIPA Act. This includes the Official Community Visitor Scheme.
If we provide information in response to a formal access application and we think the information may also be of interest to others, we include it in our disclosure log:

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the First Nations Peoples of NSW and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future.
Informed by lessons of the past, the Ageing and Disability Commission is improving how we work with Aboriginal people and communities. We listen and learn from the knowledge, strength and resilience of Stolen Generations Survivors, Aboriginal Elders and Aboriginal communities.
You can access our apology to the Stolen Generations.
