With funding from the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and NSW Ageing and Disability Commission (ADC), the Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC) at UNSW was comissioned to conduct the ADC Carers Project in partnership with Carers NSW.
Comprising of a literature review and a report, these materials identify opportunities for early intervention and prevention strategies of abuse, neglect and exploitation of older people and adults with disability. They also provide clear evidence-based findings, recommendations, and advice to inform the ADC's work with carers of adults with disability and older people.

This report examines neglect of older people and adults with disability in NSW, drawing on 474 cases to the ADC. It explores the nature, causes, and contributing factors of neglect, including links to coercive control, abuse, social isolation, and gaps in service involvement.
